James Garner

James Garner (estado de Oklahoma, 7 de abril de 1928 - Los Ángeles, 19 de julio de 2014) fue un actor estadounidense de cine y televisión.
Síntesis biográfica
Trayectoria laboral
Se inició en el teatro, llegando al cine a través de la televisión (donde alcanzó una gran fama a partir de 1957 gracias especialmente a la serie Maverick). Se convirtió en personaje de películas de acción e incluso de comedias. A partir de los años setenta se dedicó sobre todo a la TV (series Nichols y The Rockford riles).
Entre sus películas más destacables aparecen: Sayonara (Joshua Logan, 1957), Los jóvenes invasores (Darby's Rangers, W. Wellman, 1958) El potentado (Cash McCall, J. Pevney, 1960); La gran evasión (John Sturges, 1963); The Americanization of Emily (A. Hiller, 1964); Gran Prix (J. Frankenheimer, 1966); Marlowe, detective muy privado (Marlowe, Paul Bogart, 1969); Látigo (B. Kennedy, 1971); ¿Victor o Victoria? (Blake Edwards, 1982).
En 1986 recibió una nominación para el Premio Óscar por la película Murphy's Romance. En 1994 coprotagonizó con Mel Gibson y Jodie Foster la película Maverick, basada en la versión original de la serie.
