Impellitteri. Es una banda de heavy metal que surge en los Estados Unidos en el año 1987.
Historia de la banda
Impellitteri es un grupo de heavy metal liderado por el virtuoso guitarrista Chris Impellitteri. Fue formado en 1987. Chris Impellitteri formó el grupo junto al cantante de heavy metal Rob Rock (ex-Axel Rudi Pell, Tony MacAlpine, Joshua, Avantasia), con el que realizó su primer EP, que fue titulado The black album. Ambos participaron en las letras. Rob Rock, en una entrevista sobre este álbum, dijo: "(el EP) fue rápido y crudo, no tuvimos mucho tiempo ni dinero, así que sólo nos pusimos a ello y lo grabamos... La respuesta fue estupenda, porque la gente podía escuchar cómo de directo y energético es". Y lo cierto es que el sonido del disco da la sensación de que estén tocando en directo.
En 1988, Rob Rock comenzó su carrera en solitario, entonces se unió a la banda el cantante Graham Bonnet (ex-Rainbow, Alcatrazz, Steeler). Lanzaron el álbum Stand in line, uno de los de mayor éxito.
Chris Impellitteri
Chris Impellitteri (nacido en 1964 en Connecticut) es un reconocido guitarrista. Según la revista Guitar One, que es el segundo guitarrista más rápido en el mundo. Sus influencias van desde rockeros como Eddie Van Halen, Uli Jon Roth y Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen a la fusión de compositores de la talla de Al Di Meola.
Ha tocado en varios homenajes a través de su carrera, ha llevado su propia banda, Impellitteri desde 1987. En 1988 trabajó junto con el ex Los Mármoles, ex Rainbow, Alcatrazz, ex cantante Graham Bonnet. Está trabajando ahora en un proyecto con una banda de Los Ángeles.
